A Therapeutic Space for the Whole Family
Being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world can feel like a constant uphill climb. Whether you’re an adult seeking to understand your own unique brain or a parent supporting a neurodivergent teen, Hinks Headspace offers a safe, online therapy space to stop masking and start thriving. I believe that when you feel understood, the whole family begins to heal.
Parents and Carers
Navigating the journey
I'm Gemma, a compassionate and dedicated therapist. As a parent myself, I know the unique pressures of advocating for a neurodiverse child. I’ve walked the difficult path of navigating the UK education system and the EHCP process, and I understand the deep isolation that comes with trying to get the right support.
My approach is built on genuine empathy and lived experience. I provide a non-judgmental space for parents who are exhausted by the "system," as well as individual adults seeking to understand their own minds or heal from past challenges.
You don’t have to carry the world on your shoulders. Whether you are constantly on edge anticipating the next misunderstanding, or you’re an adult looking to reclaim your sense of self, I can help you find a different way of being. Together, we can:
-
Untangle the guilt and soften the self-blame often felt by parents.
-
Navigate the chaos of advocacy while maintaining your own wellbeing.
-
Heal from trauma, including childhood experiences, to build a more peaceful future.
A Blended Approach for Every Journey I use a blended therapeutic approach, combining the practical tools of CBT with the compassionate foundation of Person-Centred Therapy. By also exploring Attachment Theory, we can work together to build more secure, fulfilling relationships for you and your family.

For Children and Young Adults
A Place to Be Understood
Support for aged 13+
I believe that being truly understood is the foundation of confidence. Having worked directly within schools,
I have a deep appreciation for the unique social, sensory, and emotional challenges that neurodivergent young people face, from the pressure of exams to navigating complex friendships.
My goal is to meet you exactly where you are. Whether we work together online or in person, I provide a non-judgmental space where you don't have to "mask" or fit into a box. We’ll work together to:
-
Understand your unique brain and celebrate your strengths.
-
Manage the "overwhelm" of school, college, or starting work.
-
Build practical tools for anxiety and social confidence that actually work for you.

Through our work together, we can focus on:
-
Understanding Your Unique Mind: Gaining deep insight into how your brain works, moving away from "broken" narratives, and celebrating your individual strengths
-
Navigating Social & Professional Worlds: Developing practical strategies for building authentic relationships, managing "social battery" drain, and feeling more comfortable in work, college, or social settings.
-
Building Emotional Resilience: Finding tailored strategies to manage "overwhelm," big emotions, and the daily pressures of life, whether that’s at home, in education, or in your career.
-
Reclaiming Your Identity: Untangling who you are from the roles you play (advocate, parent, employee) and the "mask" you might be wearing to fit in.
